Wubbers

While working with Wired Up Beads, a jewelry crafting retailer, MediaPOP discovered a void in the DIY jewelry market.

Most crafters were using pliers manufactured for the electronics industry. Nobody was manufacturing or marketing moderately priced tools specifically for people who make jewelry.

MediaPOP worked with our client to launch a line of tools ‘Made to make jewelry.’ We named them Wubbers, a play on our client’s initials (Wired Up Beads), and the rubbery handles on the pliers. We designed the packaging for the full line of pliers, and then began working on a marketing campaign to target jewelry crafting enthusiasts.

Where the Wubber Meets the Road

We began marketing the pliers in all the major wire and bead type magazines. The campaign had lots of fun with the name ‘Wubbers,’ and was an instant success!

Immediately, the phones started ringing off the hook with distributors wanting to know how they could get their hands on Wubbers. And within a year, Wubbers struck a deal with EuroTool, the largest master distributor in the craft and jewelry trade to become the exclusive manufacturer and distributor of Wubbers worldwide.
